For a long time now the only way to integrate your existing repositories has been to connect your GitHub account, but after listening to our community feedback we’re excited to announce we are now giving you the ability to connect your Bitbucket repositories to use the power of the Travis CI platform!
Flexibility has always been a core value at Travis CI, and the release of the Bitbucket integration feature marks only the beginning of us giving you the flexibility to build repositories hosted in different version control systems.
We are rolling out this release as an open beta on March 11th 2020 for travis-ci.com only (which now also supports open-source projects as well as private repos!), meaning you will be able to test this awesome new feature as soon as it is released!. Also, as an awesome member of the Travis CI community, we’d love to hear back from you with any feedback, comments or suggestions to make the Bitbucket feature even better by logging your thoughts in the community forum!
Like any software development in beta, there are some things you should be aware of:
There are potentially going to be some changes to functionality and user interface during this period as our developers are actively working on the feature. This means that the platform could change without warning and look and work in a better yet different way to how you previously found it. For the same reason, we don’t recommend you running any repositories that are business-critical whilst in beta phase.
Having said that, we encourage anyone who is currently using or considering Bitbucket as their VCS to connect their account and see just how amazing it is to use with Travis CI! Using your open source projects will still continue to be 100% free, and you will still get 100 trial builds for testing your private repositories!
All the great functionality you currently know and love with your GitHub repositories connected to Travis CI will be available for your Bitbucket repos too, including build stages, generating build requests from a Travis configuration file in your repo and seeing the live status of a build!
For a full list of functionality in this release, check out the changelog!
If you want to know more about the Bitbucket integration with Travis CI, check out the docs!.
As always, if you have any questions or issues with the new VCS, please email support@travis-ci.com for help.
We’d love to hear what you think of Bitbucket Integration and if there’s something that you’d like to see included or improved! Let us know in the Travis CI Community Forum.
